Wayne Alvin “Wienner” Attleson, age 66, of Holmen, WI, died Saturday, January 6, 2024, at home, surrounded by family.

He was born February 20, 1957 in Jamestown, ND, the son of Alvin and Kay (Whipkey) Attleson. He was united in marriage to Dale Comeau on July 12, 1986 in La Crosse. He worked for Trane in La Crosse for over 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and his dogs. Wayne also loved to have a good time, and will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Dale; children: Alana (Christopher) Attleson Baxter, and Brant (Kelsey) Attleson; sisters: Karen Oldenburg, and Jane (Dan) Mitley; father-in-law, Alan Comeau; sister-in-law Dawn (Rolland) Pataska; and many nieces, nephews and close family friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Gale; and mother-in-law, Susan Comeau.

Memorials are preferred to the family, which will be donated to the Community Paramedic Program, and youth trap shooting.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 12:00pm, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home in La Crosse. Visitation will be prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Interment will be at Burr Oak Cemetery in Melrose, WI.
