ANDERSON, Vernon S. “Paulâ€
Vernon S. “Paul†Anderson, 85, of Holmen, Wis., ended his long journey in this life on Sept., 15, 2013 at Bluffview Memory Cares Assisted Living Center. He was born to Clarence and Lillie (Quall) Anderson on Dec. 10, 1927 and worked on the family farm for many years. He married Angeline E. “Angie†Clements on Sept 19, 1950, and parented two sons, Steven and Dennis.
Paul was a long term employee at Allis Chalmers, then retired from La Crosse Steel and Roofing. After retiring, he enjoyed family, playing cards, gardening, tinkering in the garage and yard, and watching WWF wrestling on TV. He also enjoyed their only grandchild, Jenny Anderson; she could always put a smile on his face. He also had a cat named Ozzie that became his most beloved companion after the death of his wife.
He is survived by his sons; Steven (Penny) Anderson, and Dennis Anderson; granddaughter; Jenny (Dan Rourk) Anderson; Great Grandson; Oliver Paul Rourk; loving sisters Valgean Anderson, Elvira Meyer; step-sisters Carolyn (Richard) Bryant, and Mary Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Aileen Anderson, his wonderful wife Angie; sister, Lenora Baker; brothers, Duane and Calvin Anderson; brothers-in-law, Orlando Baker, Arthur Kidd, Duane Meyer, and Perry Anderson; nephews Duane and Timothy Anderson, and niece Vicki Kidd.
Paul’s family would like to sincerely thank all the care providers who became his extended family at Bluffview Memory Cares. The compassion and care provided demonstrated your mission to assist and embrace individuals struggling with aging and memory issues. We applaud your great work and will be forever grateful to each of you.
We also want to extend a special thank you to Terri Oehler for all the personal love and care she provided to Paul before he went to Bluffview. He enjoyed her sense of humor and she was able to keep him as active as possible.
Also a special thank you to Peggy Gaffney who cleaned his home for a period of time; what he remembered more than her cleaning skills, was the fact that she always brought him fresh baked goods and chatted with him all the while she cleaned. He looked forward to her visits.
Paul had simple and pure beliefs… and now his sprit is reunited with his wife of 52 years. God Blessed them both with life, and now eternity.
