Tamara June Benson

On August 13th, 2023, Tamara June Benson (Zessin) passed away peacefully in her home in LaCrescent, Minnesota, at the age of 64.  She was born June 12, 1959, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Myron and Shirley Zessin and was a lifelong resident in the LaCrescent area.

She graduated from LaCrescent High School in 1977 and went on to attend Viterbo University where she graduated with a degree in psychology.  She later attended college in Winona where she completed her RN nursing degree.

She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister.  She was an advocate for women, children, and the elderly.  She went above and beyond to care for her family and patients, plus had many cherished lifelong friendships.

Tamara is survived by her sons, Jesse Benson (fiance’ Abby) of Maplewood, Minnesota, and Tyler Benson of La Crosse, Wisconsin; her sister Debra (Tom) Pollard of La Crosse, Wisconsin; her nephews Ryan McCauley, Trevor McCauley, Alexander Pollard, and Joseph Pollard; and great-nephew Michael McCauley.

She was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Shirley (Steele) Zessin and brother Trent Zessin.

A service will be held at a later date for immediate family only.
