Susan K. Belopavlovich

Susan Kay Belopavlovich, age 65, of Madison, WI, passed away at home on Thursday, October 12, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born on January 6, 1952, to Alvin “Red” and Elizabeth “Betty” Smith. She married Robert Belopavlovich on September 17, 1983.

Susan served many veterans and their families during her 39 years of patient advocacy with the Madison VA Hospital. She attended Aquinas High School and Western Wisconsin Technical Institute. Some of her favorite activities included caring for the family dogs, visiting the shores of Lake Superior, taking long walks outside, enjoying the performing arts, fishing, and planting flowers around her home.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Belopavlovich, one son; Matthew Belopavlovich, one step-daughter; Sara Belopavlovich, one sister; Deena Gouff (Smith), one brother-in-law; Douglas Gouff and their children, Sara, Zachary, and Emily Gouff.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Elizabeth Smith.

A private Funeral Mass Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in the Marian Chapel in the St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with Entombment to be held in the Catholic Cemetery.
