Star Rosemary Hinkle, 85, of La Crosse, Wis., passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System, La Crosse, Wis. on Thursday, March 31st, 2016. She was born on February 19th, 1931, to Guy Oscar and Barbara Thelma (Johnson) Hinkle in Winchester, Illinois.
She met and married Lyle Norman Norskog while owning and operating her dance studio in Champagne, Illinois. They later divorced. She lived in Margate, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach, Florida until moving back to La Crosse, Wis. in 1999. Star loved the arts, dancing, languages, and music, taking lessons in all. She sang in the choir at Saint Edwards of Palm Beach, FL as well as choirs in the La Crosse area. Star loved being the captain of her own ship and sometimes captain of other peoples` ship too!
She is survived by her son Derick Jerome Norskog (Kimberly Johnson), Chino Valley, Ariz., and daughter Doria Marie Norskog (Thomas Viner), La Crosse, Wis., grandson Christian David Norskog, Chino Valley, Ariz and granddaughter Leila Rose Norskog of Madison, Wis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in the Marion Chapel of St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main St., La Crosse, Wis. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with burial to be held in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass in the Marion Chapel on Tuesday.
The Blaschke & Schnieder Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
