Shawn M. Poellinger

Shawn M. Poellinger, age 35, of Madison, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in Madison. He was born in La Crosse, on August 22, 1982, to Bill and Susan (Mattie) Poellinger.

Shawn graduated from Logan High School in 2001, and from UW-LaCrosse with a Bachelor of Science in 2005. Most recently he was living and working in Madison. He enjoyed golfing and playing chess with his son.

He is survived by his son, Julian Poellinger; his parents Bill and Susan Poellinger; his brother Brian Poellinger; maternal grandparents Ronald and Janice Mattie; maternal great grandmother Elsie Mattie; and niece Kassidy Poellinger. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Teresa Olson, Susan (Rich) Thompson, Steve (Brandi) Poellinger, Debra (Don) Peterson, and Vicki (Scott) Sheehan; and many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by Lori Mattie, Archie C. Mattie, William M. Poellinger, Sr., Mary Poellinger, Laura Olson and George Olson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM, Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse, Wis. Pastor Leistekow will officiate. Friends and Family may call from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Funeral Home on Thursday.

The family wants to send a special thank you to the entire ICU staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
