Ruth Patricia Gandyra, 85, of Independence, Wis. passed away Sunday Sept. 30, 2012, in Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, Wis. Ruth was born on Feb. 10th, 1927, in North Creek, Wis., to George and Gertrude (Kulig) Sobotta. Ruth graduated from Arcadia high school in 1944. She worked in Winona Minn. until she met and married Michael Hyacynth Gandyra on June 2nd, 1948. They made their home on the Gandyra homestead farm in North Creek, rural Arcadia, Wis. They farmed 360 acres where they raised 4 children.
 Ruth will be sadly missed by her daughters; Shirley (Luis) Duco of Ft. Lauderdale Fla. Joyce George, Patricia (Leo) Lembetz, and Michelle (Andy) Haines all of North Creek, Wis. Ruth is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Connie (Bill) Guza, Andy (Pam) George, Jaime George, Luis Duco, Lance (Andrea) Lembitz, Kyle and Nathaniel Haines. She is further survived by 6 great grandchildren; Tawney Jacobson, Coalton Scrivens, Jaydin and Rylie Guza, Zachary and Zoey George; one brother Cornelius Sobotta of Winona, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael on Sept. 2, 1998, infant son Angelo Gandyra, one sister and three brothers.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 (Noon) Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, in St. Michael the Archangel, North Creek, Wis., Rev. Woodrow H. Pace will officiate with burial to be held in the church cemetery. Â Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass in the church on Saturday.
The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home of La Crosse is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ruth and family request proceeds to go to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Independence, Wis.
