Robert G. “Bob” Duffrin, 79, of Eau Claire, Wis., died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
He was born in La Crosse, Wis., on September 29, 1945, to Norman Duffrin, Sr. and Viola (Euler) Duffrin and remained a lifelong city resident. He married Susan Jones on March 30, 1970, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, La Crosse, Wis.
Bob joined the United States Navy at 17 and had a long career with the La Crosse School District. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, going for walks, reading books, doing puzzles, picking up sticks for the campfire when camping, and taking a boat ride to get a kiddie cocktail. Bob will be remembered for his huge heart and infectious smile; he will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by two daughters; Tammy (Calvin) Flick of Eau Claire, Wis., and Tracy Duffrin of Duluth, Minn., two sons; Broeck Duffrin of La Crosse, Wis., and Bradley (Jess) Duffrin of Deforest, Wis., two grandchildren Christian and Adrianna Duffrin, one brother Jerry (Trudy) Duffrin of La Crosse, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Duffrin Sr. and Viola (Euler); his stepfather, Lendal Richardson; his wife, Susan Duffrin; his son, Kevin Duffrin; three brothers, Norman Duffrin Jr., Richard Duffrin, Jack Duffrin, and sister, Carol Duffrin.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:45 AM Saturday, March 16, 2024, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Robert Letona will officiate with burial to be held in the French Island Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. following the mass.
The family would like to thank Home Health Caregiver Jason, Trina Unruh, Stephanie Uselman, and Julie Kernan for being part of our family and supporting our father's journey.
