Robert “Bob†Edward Krocker, 65, of Stoddard, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, February 25th, 2014. Bob`s adventurous life began in Milwaukee on March 25th, 1948. He attended grade school at Mount Olive School, studied the sciences at UW Milwaukee and paid his way while pursuing his passion of photography at Wauwatosa Camera. He met his wife Charlene on a blind date and they were married on January 30th, 1971 and honeymooned in Jamaica. Though he originally intended on becoming a physician, Bob was rewired and graduated in 1975 with an electrical engineering degree. They took many trips and enjoyed several exciting years in Milwaukee before he accepted a job at Trane Company in La Crosse in 1978. In more recent years, he worked for Omni Engineering and TRW in Winona, where he had many friends. Bob was a prolific inventor and spearheaded nine patents in electrical engineering during his career. In 1980, they adopted their daughter Kristin and son Jonathan in 1984. Bob was passionate about traveling and took the family on many active vacations to national parks, Disney World, ski and SCUBA resorts. He was very involved with Boy Scout Troop 11 and went with Jon on eight high adventures to Philmont, Florida Sea Base, and other wild places. He loved his dog Mosey and several cats, theater, gadgets, cooking, boating, skiing, diving, laughing and living a good life. Above all, family was Bob`s greatest passion and joy, and he attended both his children`s weddings and played with his two grandchildren, Hunter and Everly.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Clara “Billie†H. (Malins) and Raymond E. Krocker. He is survived by his wife Charlene Anne (Murphy); daughter Kristin Marie (Krocker) Johnson and her husband Brian; his son Jonathan Ray and his wife Raina Thelen; and grandchildren Hunter James and Everly Laura Johnson.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2006 Weston St., La Crosse, WI. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate with burial to be held at a later date in Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee, Wis. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7:00 PM on Friday at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave S., La Crosse, Wisc. Family and friends may also call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass in the church on Saturday. Bob’s dear friend Deacon Richard Sage will deliver the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catholic Charities of La Crosse.
