Richard (Dick) L. Siebenaler, 84, of La Crosse, WI, died Monday, November 24, 2014, surrounded by family in Lakeview Health Care Center, West Salem, WI.
He was born in Winona, MN, on Feb. 4, 1930, to Reinold and Frances (Dureske) Siebenaler. He married the love of his life, Rita C. Seracki on June 18, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI. They were married for 57 years.
Dick spent the summers as a young boy helping on his Uncle Leo’s farm in Plainview, MN. This gave him the love of horses and farming. He served his country in the Army and Army Reserve from 1951 until 1959. He owned and operated Dick’s Highway Service, later working for his brother-in-law, Don at his service stations. He worked for the city of La Crosse in the Parking Utility department and later supervisor for maintenance at City Hall; retiring after 37years.
As a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church he enjoyed ushering and singing in the choir. Dick loved music of all kinds; from dancing with Rita to attending many activities of his children and grandchildren. In his retirement he and Rita traveled extensively, wintering in Sarasota, FL.
He is survived by his children; Dennis Siebenaler of Fullerton, CA, Douglas (Nancy) Siebenaler of Bangor, WI, Sheryl (Kenneth) Wiegers of Sarasota, FL, Teresa (Charles) Consolvo of Sarasota, FL, Jane (John) Norgaard of Melrose, WI, Joan (Steven) Buchholz of McDonough, GA; and David (Merrick) Siebenaler of Los Angeles, CA; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Don) Vechell of Side Lake, MN; one brother, Sam (Deb) Siebenaler of La Crosse, WI. He is further survived by one brother-in-law; James Seracki of Fountain City, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita, sister, Anne and Don Eggebakken and his parents.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 S. 13th St., La Crosse, WI. Rev. Rick Roberts and Rev. Lawrence Berger will concelebrate with entombment to be held in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, WI. Family and friends may call Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass.
