Rachel Ann McCabe, 27, of La Crosse passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
Rachel was born on Wednesday, February 14, 1996, in La Crosse to Steve and Evonne (Donley) McCabe. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse. When she was growing up, Rachel loved going to the Dells, Erickson Pool and spending her weekends having sleepovers with her cousins. Rachel loved sitting out on the sandbars, and enjoying the summer weather watching her son and dog playing in the river. Her son, Keiffer meant the whole world to her. Rachel had a deep appreciation for nature. She loved plants and all animals. She even had a pet pig, Priscilla. Rachel was a 2014 graduate of La Crosse Central High School. She had previously worked at Shopko, Mayo Clinic and Aramark in La Crosse.
Rachel is survived by her son, Keiffer; Keiffer’s father, Brandon Flisram; mother, Evonne McCabe; sister Melissa (Danielle) Devine and their three foster children; grandmother, Eloda Donley; Aunts: Pat (Jerry) Arenz, Sue (Tim) Konter, Linda (Steve) Roberts and Emma McCabe; Uncles: Wayne (Jean) Donley, Dean (Glenda) Donley, Jeff (Joan) Donley, Mike (Tonya) McCabe, Tom McCabe, Greg (Beth) McCabe; many loving cousins; extended family and friends; and her beloved dog Ivy.
Rachel will be in our hearts forever and so missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steve McCabe; grandfathers: Cecil Donley and Daniel McCabe; grandmother, Marilyn McCabe; Uncle, Curt Donley; and Cousin, Ryan Roberts.
There will be a funeral service for Rachel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Home in La Crosse. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
