Paul J. Buchner

Paul J. Buchner, 67, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Gundersen Medical Center. He was born on August 21, 1957, to Gerald and LaVonne (Schmitz) Buchner. 

Paul graduated from Central High School, and went on to work his passion as a master plumber. He loved fishing, hunting, being on the river, and watching the Green Bay Packers. He and his partner of over 20 years, Kristina Biesen, enjoyed camping and going on trips together, especially to Jamaica. He enjoyed talking politics, and was a lifetime conservative. He had a very soft spot in his heart for his three pet birds.

He is survived by his partner Kris, his siblings Renee Gruen, Doug Buchner, Cheryl (Jeff) Kautz, and Jacqueline (Gary Gamoke) Carroll; three grandchildren Kayla, Alessandra, Braedon Picasso, and his three birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jessica, and his sister Maureen and infant brother Kenneth.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 AM until the time of services on Thursday, at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family asks that everyone wear their packer gear for Paul’s service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
