Patricia A. Marx, age 83, of La Crosse, died Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Benedictine Manor, La Crosse, WI. She was born on February 9, 1933 in Wauwatosa, WI. She married Walter Marx on June 27, 1953 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crosse, WI.

Patricia worked at the La Crosse Footwear for 31 years. She enjoyed the friendships she developed and the camaraderie she built with her long time fellow co-workers. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She was an avid sports fan of Aquinas High School football and basketball, Green Bay Packer football, Notre Dame football, and Duke basketball. She also enjoyed bowling as she participated in local bowling leagues for over 25 years.

She is survived by her three sons; Stephen (Kathy) Marx, Greg Marx, and John (Lu) Marx, and her four grandchildren; Kristie (Kyle Konkel) Marx, Wesley Marx, Tyler Marx, and Brett Marx. She is also survived by 2 Great-Grandchildren; Benjamin and Jonathan Konkel; 1 brother and 2 sisters ; Richard (RoseAnn) Meier, Jean Hanson, and Jeanette(Ted)Reece.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Walter and her parents, Ray and Dorothy Meier; grandparents; Adolph and Anna Engh; and uncles and aunts; Ray(Marie)Engh, Jim(June)Engh, and Bill(Eleanor)Engaas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Benedictine Villa and Benedictine Manor for the special care they provided to Patricia for the past year.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., on the North Side of La Crosse. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with burial to be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes, Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia Street, on the North Side of La Crosse, with a Prayer Service starting at 6:30 PM led by Fr. Robert Cook.
