Michael G. Dunn

Michael George Dunn, 63, of La Crosse, died of a massive stroke on January 20 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center. Michael was born in La Crosse on August 1^st, 1951 to Robert William Dunn and Marion Lois Kohlhaus Dunn.

Michael graduated in 1969 at La Crosse Central High School. He studied music at UW-La Crosse, and Viterbo – La Crosse. He furthered his education certifying in Sales Marketing courses and continued his education through extensive training-certification in the Fire and Safety Equipment field. Michael used this education to start the Tri-State area’s first Mobile Fire & Safety Company, “La Crosse Fire & Safety”.

Michael is and will continue to be well respected as a musician in the musical community. He is best known and loved for his talent to play guitar, ability to build tight bands, teaching & mentorship.

Michael is survived by his daughter Adria, mother Marion, brother’s Mark and Matthew, sister’s Michele and Holly. He is further survived by (8) Nieces/Nephews and (8) Great Nieces/Nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his father Robert, brother’s Gregory, John, Mitchell and sister Mary.

He surprised us all in the end by continuing to give. Michael was a Donor of Life and offered the rest to Science.

Funeral Services will Tuesday January 27, 2015, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit starting at 4:00 PM. Memorial services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Following the services family and friends may gather for a celebration of Mike’s life at “The View”, 3020 State Rd 16, La Crosse from 7 pm– 9 pm.
