It is with great sadness that the family of Meredith A. Jiracek announces her passing.  After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on June 28, 2017, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, she passed away on July 6, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to Carl and Laura (Bauch) Olson. She proudly obtained her bachelor’s  degree from Viterbo College and retired from Dairyland Power Cooperative. Meredith is survived by her husband Jerry, three daughters Kim Potaracke, Tammy Potaracke, and Heidi (Tony); a step-daughter Wendy (Larry) Pertzsch; 4 grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Zachary, and Savannah; her sister Nancy (Dennis) Klein, brother-in-law Roger Bergman; several nieces and nephews; many friends and her animal companions Wally and Nikki.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Lynne Bergman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s UCC Church, 630 West Ave. South, La Crosse.  Rev. John Parkyn will officiate.  A visitation will be held Friday July 28^th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, all at the church. A lunch will served at the church following the services.  The family would like to thank all of Meredith’s friends and neighbors for their prayers, support and food.  They are grateful to the staff of the Oncology department as well as Hospice for their compassionate and skilled care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s UCC or a charity of your choice.
