Mary Ann Roesler age 81 of La Crosse, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022. She was born in La Crosse, WI on July 2, 1940, to Robert and Francis (Forer) Jaekel. She graduated from Aquinas High School and worked at Fantles Department Store in accounting. She married the love of her life, David Roesler, on August 11, 1962 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church and started a family. Most of all she cared deeply for her children and grandchildren, instilling values she demonstrated daily. Those values included courage, a strong self confidence and fortitude that many would not be able to match while leaning on her faith throughout her life and asking us all to respect her privacy. She truly enjoyed summer vacations, music and laughter. She worked as a Unit Clerk at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing home, and also with the Dominican Sisters at the Monastery, serving the Church. She baked communion hosts while her children were young at St. Dominic’s Monastery and later attended WI Technical College and received a Healthcare Administrative Assistant certificate, working at Bethany St. Joseph’s.
Throughout her life she demonstrated a strong will and independence. She advocated endlessly for those with disabilities, enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, flowers, and a nice cold beer while watching the Bucks, Brewers or Packers with her lap dog “Daisy” and later “Kirby”. Mary always enjoyed company, making sure you had something to eat or drink, welcoming all with beautiful hospitality.
Mary is survived by her three children, Ann (Dennis) Miller, Tom Roesler, Barb (Ron) Secord; four grandchildren, Hannah (Michael) Gander, Brad Miller, Allison Secord and Emily Secord. Three siblings, Bill (Marilyn) Jaekel, Bob Jaekel and Jim (Nancy) Jaekel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband David, her parents, and brother, Tom Jaekel.
A special thank you for the love and support from Bill and Marilyn Jaekel.
