KEMP, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Kemp, 88, of La Crosse, Wis., died Friday, June 27, 2014, in Benedictine Living Community, La Crosse, Wis. She was born in Sparta, Wis., on August 13, 1925, to Cleo and Alice (Chambers) Jeffers. She married Le Roy W. Kemp May 14, 1946, in St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse, Wis.

She is survived by one daughter; Laurie Kemp of French Island, Wis., three sons; David (Hilde) Kemp of French Island, Wis., Thomas Kemp of Onalaska, Wis., and Jeffery Kemp of French Island, Wis. four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, her parents and one brother Quentin Jeffers.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Robert Schaller will officiate with entombment to be held in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis., Family and friends may call on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis., with a Rosary to be held at 6:30 PM. Family and friends may also call from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass in the church on Tuesday.

The family would like to take the time to thank the staff at the Benedictine Living Community for the wonderful care their mother received during her stay there.
