Mary P. Dunn, 67, of La Crosse, died peacefully, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Benedictine Manor, La Crosse. She was born on January 15, 1956, to Paul and Dorothy (Poehling) Dunn, in La Crosse.
Mary attended Aquinas High School, and graduated from Viterbo University with a music degree. She worked at the La Crosse Public Library for 45 years, and was a singer and Cantor for the Cathedral Choir for nearly 50 years. She was an animal lover and donated a lot of her free time to organizations that helped animals. She was also an avid Green Bay Packer, Brewers, and Badger sports fan. She loved traveling the world with her many friends. She played on a number of softball and bowling teams, loved organizing and leading bus trips, had a love for tourism.
She is survived by her brother, Michael Dunn, and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant brother.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10:30 AM, with a Musical Prelude at 10:15 AM, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main St., La Crosse. Msgr. Michael Gorman will officiate, with burial to take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 9:15 AM until the time of the Prelude at Church on Saturday. A visitation will also be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:30 PM, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse.
Mary’s family and friends would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dena Brion and the cancer nurses at Mayo for the wonderful care they gave to Mary. She loved them all and regarded them as family.
Memorials in memory of Mary can be made to Heart2Heart Pet Lifeline, La Crosse Humane Society, and 2nd Chance to Shine Rescue.
