Oelfke, Mary A.
Mary A. Oelfke, age 73 of Holmen, died Tuesday October 16, 2012, in Onalaska Care Center. She was born in La Crosse on April 9, 1939, to Fred and Evelyn (Kildow) Wuttke. She married Carl Oelfke on August 9, 1958, at English Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Mary loved living on the farm in rural Holmen, picking berries and making jam, baking, taking care of her flower gardens, and having her children and grandchildren visit. Her loving and caring nature always put others first, that is what made her so special. She was always there to listen and never pass judgment. Her heart was always open.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Oelfke of Holmen, her children, David (Jolyn) Oelfke of Holmen, Jill (Ron) Lorenz of Onalaska, Nancy Iverson of La Crosse, Randy (Barb Pollack) Oelfke of Onalaska, Ronald (Alissa) Oelfke of Holmen, Terry (Jackie Waldsmith) Oelfke of Holmen, Mark (fiancé Mary Kolve) Oelfke of West Salem, James (Julie) Oelfke of Onalaska, Jason (Jaime) Oelfke of Holmen, Heidi (Joseph) Bergey of Janesville, Wis.; her grandchildren, Tim, Kaitlin, Jennifer Lorenz, Ben Rivas, Travis Iverson, Josh and Brianna Evans, Connor and Lucas Oelfke, Alison and Ryan Oelfke, Alex, Kyle, Cale and Sara Oelfke, Kiara Waldsmith, Peyton Oelfke, Christopher (Abby) Hornbeck, Alesha and Hailey Oelfke, Madyson and Colton Oelfke, Lane and Ashton Bergey; and great grandchildren Riley, Aaden, and Grace Oelfke, Cody Hornbeck, Kayliah Kiesow, and Sunshine Henning. She is further survived by her sister, Nancy (Rob) Rasmussen of Kenosha, Wis.; three brothers, Fred Jr. (Sara) Wuttke of Bandera, Tex., Thomas Wuttke of La Crosse, James (Marilyn) Wuttke of Holmen, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Wuttke.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 20, 2012, at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Homes, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse Wis. Rev. Dan Henderson will officiate with burial to be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse Wis. Family and friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Homes.
Memorials are preferred and will be determined by the family at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Onalaska Care Center for their care of Mary over the last few years. She thought of many of you as family.
