Marian Elizabeth ‘Wilfred’ Roesler, 90, of La Crosse, Died Friday January 2, 2015 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on October 6, 1924 to Thomas and Bertha (Bean) Sobkowiak. She married Wilfred E. Roesler in 1945 in La Crosse.

Marian started grade school in a one room school house on Chipmunk Ridge. She then went on to graduate from Aquinas High School. She started her working career at Autolite and also sold Stanley products and World Book Encyclopedias. After that, Marian served as a waitress for many years starting at The Party House, and proceeding to The Commodore, Holiday Inn, Walts Restaurant, and finishing at Jerry’s Place. She moved onto the Roesler Family Farm when she married Wilfred in 1945, and lived there the rest of her life. There she enjoyed gardening, cooking, socializing, and watching the Packers.

She is survived by her 6 children, Marjie Dow, Eileen Roesler, Charles Roesler Sr., Sharon Roesler, and Randy Roesler; Grandchildren Charles (Tara) Roesler Jr., and Paul (Nicole) Dow; Great-Grandchildren Emma, Addison, and Meghan Roesler, and Lilly, Everet, and Garrett Dow. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathrine (Miles) Newman, and Jo Ann Cooper-Roers; sister-in-laws Dorris (Albert) Roesler, Betty (Allan) Smith, and Dottie (Edward) Roesler, and many nieces and nephews.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred, her parents, Thomas and Bertha Sobkowiak, her uncle Louis Sobkowiak, her son Anthony, her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Martin and Elizabeth (Beitlich) Roesler Sr.; Sister-in-law, Dorothy (Julius) Mansky; Brother-in-laws Martin Jr. and Georgina Roesler, and Donnie and Millie Roesler.

Family and Friends may call Thursday January 8, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Family and Friends may also call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at Church on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday January 9, 2015 at Mary Mother of the Church, 2006 Weston St., La Crosse Rev. Brian Konopa will officiate with burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery in La Crosse.
