LACROSSE- Marcy was born to Josephine (McConaghy) and La Verne Winchell on August 15, 1934 in Rhinelander, WI. She graduated from Aquinas in 1953. Marcy held various jobs in her lifetime but her passion was her ceramic business (Marcy’s Irish Ornaments) which she owned and operated for close to 20 years. She also worked at Vaalar’s Home Improvement.  Marcy was an advocate for her Irish Heritage and was the driving force in getting the Shamrock Club started in the La Crosse area. She was Wild Irish Rose in 1979 and at one time or another held most of the offices in the Shamrock Club. Marcy was on the board for the La Crosse Irishfest and a market vendor there and in the Milwaukee Irishfest with her Irish Ornaments.  Marcy is survived by her niece Brenda (Rick) Campbell, her nephew Mark (Charlene) Winchell, great nephew Thomas (Tara) Campbell, great nieces Jolene (Todd) Fritz and Kristin (Dion) Mauss, great great nieces Halley and Hanna Fritz and great great nephews Turner and Traenor Campbell, her Aunts Emily, Patricia and Charolette McConaghy, her cousin Sharon Candahl and special friends and caretakers Nancy Lorenz and Patricia Spars, many relatives and friends here and in Ireland.  Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ronald (Janice) Winchell and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and special friends.  The family would like to thank Hillview Nursing home staff in wing 500 and Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care of Marcy. Also, our thanks to the staff at the Village on Cass for their help in caring for Marcy in the last year.  A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 So. 13th St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Rick Roberts will celebrate with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass in the church on Tuesday.
