Marceen “Marcie” Weilandt, age 83, of LaCrosse, WI died peacefully with family by her side at Mayo Clinic Health System La Crosse. She was born to Forrest and Teresa (Burzinski) McGregor on September 4, 1941 at St. Ann’s Hospital in La Crosse. She married Gerald “Jerry” Weilandt on June 2, 1962 at the Cathedral Parish in La Crosse.
The joy of Marcie’s life has always been her family. Her deep Catholic faith since she was a little girl has sustained her throughout her life. Examples of that faith were most evident by her devotion to praying the rosary, faithfully attending mass and turning to prayer as she dealt with the ups and downs of life. Although she worked at various jobs outside of the home while raising her children, her absolute joy and dedication was to her family. Through quilting, baking and sewing, Marcie shared her many talents with us all.
For 55 years Marcie and Jerry set an example of love and marriage for us all to see. Whether it was holding hands while walking or sharing a dance in the kitchen while doing dishes, they enjoyed the little things of everyday life. Kind, loving and helpful are a few words that come to mind when thinking about how she lived life. Her pride and joy only continued to grow with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marcie relied on her daily prayers to keep all of her family safe as they went out into the world to live their lives. Finding beauty in the simple things such as nature, rolling thunderstorms, or reminiscing about personal family memories are all ways to remember that she will always be around us. Marcie and Jerry are now reunited in the love that began it all and her family takes great comfort in that.
She is survived by 3 children, Kellie (Mike) Berg, Mark (Bonnie) Weilandt, Steve (Diane) Weilandt; 7 grandchildren, Megan (Tony) Zobeck and Rachel Berg, Justin (Savannah) Weilandt, Joey Weilandt (Miranda Friemel), Jamie (Zach) Lehnen, Tony (June) Weilandt, Cameron Weilandt; 7 great grandchildren, Jensen Zobeck, Bennett, Layla, Noelle, and Roman Weilandt, Ethan Friemel, Jackson Lehnen (with another great-grandchild expected in March)
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father in-law Harry and Viola (Leas) Weilandt, brother Robert (Bob) McGregor, sister Beatrice Twitty and sister Linda and brother in-law Dennis Hansen.
