Lu j. Becker Ekern

Lu J. Becker, 98, of La Crosse, Wis., died Friday, January 20, 2017, in Mayo Health System, La Crosse, Wis. She was born on July 24, 1918, to Odell and Olga (Gullickson) Ekern. She married Frank R. Becker on July 18, 1953, in St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral Catholic Church.

Lu was a Planning Change Design Analyst at Trane Co., for 47 years until her retirement.

She is survived by one son; Richard P. Becker (Special Friend Marilyn Johnson) of La Crosse, Wis., one sister-in-law; Ruth F. Becker of Daly City, Calf.

She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank R. Becker on October 15, 1991, her parents, two sisters Marjorie Tolvstad and Helen Tolvstad, and one brother Angus Ekern.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017, in Holmen Lutheran Church, 228 Morris St., Holmen, Wis. Rev. Allison Cobb will officiate with burial to be held in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 27, at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also visit from 9:30 AM until the time of services in Holmen Lutheran Church on Saturday.

Memorials are preferred to Holmen Lutheran Church.
