Lisa Kay Mohr was born on April 19, 1965, in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Robert Eugene and Deborah Lynn (Gardner) Gordon. She passed away at the Lucas County Medical Center in Chariton, Iowa on February 22, 2022, at the age of 56.
Lisa grew up in La Crosse and attended Logan High School where she later graduated in 1983. After daughter Crystal was born, they moved to New Mexico for a short time. She then moved back to La Crosse where second daughter Heather was born. Lisa married Richard Beckman and spent several years raising the girls on the farm. They later divorced but remained life-long friends. Lisa was a fun Mom! She was always busy on different outings with the kids. There was an “open door” for all of Crystal and Heather’s friends who called her their “adopted Mom” (Carlotta, Amy, Brooke). Lisa and her girls enjoyed going camping and fishing. Lisa later attended nursing school while raising her two girls and obtained her LPN degree. She went on to work at St. Frances Skemp Hospital.
Lisa married Timothy John Mohr “Red” in September of 2017. She loved him deeply and they shared a special bond and friendship. They spent a lot of their time going fishing and competing on a dart team. They also loved to play card games with the family.
100% Sassy, Vivacious, Loud and Loving, Spunky and Outspoken are all words that could be used to describe Lisa. She loved with her whole heart and was always willing to give and forgive with grace. Her favorite activities were fishing, darts, and family zoo trips. She was an expert at spoiling the grandchildren, often going overboard at Christmas and Easter. She loved to hide Easter eggs, sometimes forgetting where she had hidden them. Granddaughter Kinzley was very close, living with her mom and Lisa. They loved reading books and singing together. Lisa loved to watch all the grandkids’ events and spent many summers in Iowa with her daughters, son-in-law, husband, and grandkids.
Lisa loved to collect pigs, elephants, dimes, and quarters. She loved her dogs and cat. She credited her pets for helping her beat cancer twice.
Lisa was preceded in death by Robert Gardner (father), Janet Gardner (stepmother) and life-long friend, Rick Beckman.
Left to cherish her memory are husband, Tim “Red” Mohr and daughters, Crystal (David) Denton and Heather Gardner; grandchildren, Aiden, Anne, Amelia and Kinzley; mother, Deborah Gordon and 4 siblings.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse. A prayer service will begin at 4:00 PM.
