Larry L. Budnik

April 28, 1947 — March 23, 2019

Larry Lee Budnik, 71, of Minocqua, Wis., passed away on March 23, 2019, after a short hard-fought battle with cancer.

Larry was born in Indiana, one of two children of Leo and Joan (Zarnowski) Budnik. After High School he enlisted in the US Army and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent.

He worked hard his whole life, sometimes even having to work two jobs. He worked as a mechanic and later as a custodian and maintenance at Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse, Wis. Larry enjoyed working with his hands fixing things. He got great pleasure in teaching his skills to others. He looked forward to his time hunting, fishing, boating and feeding and watching the deer and other wildlife. He was born with the gift to be able to talk to anyone. Even a short time spent with Larry could make quite an impression. Larry’s children, grandchildren, best friends, and love of his life were his greatest pride.

He is survived by his children; Todd & Malina (Eno) Budnik of Viroqua, Wis., Joan Budnik of Holmen, Wis., his fiancé; Theresa Weatherford and her children Scott Weatherford and Suzanne Ring of Florida. Six grandchildren; Nishan, Leah, Victor, Sterling, Vaughn, and Jade. His best friends Jim and Patti Mattioli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Peggy Lange.

A celebration of life will be held on his birthday at 10:30 AM, Sunday, April 28, 2019, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Burial will be held in Neshonoc Cemetery, West Salem, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 AM until the time of services in the funeral home on Sunday.

Larry will be missed; but in his own words; “It is, what it is”
