Joseph (Joey) Patrick Addis passed away on January 16, 2025, just ten days shy of his 65th birthday, at Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Joey was born on January 26,1960 to Joe and Doreen Addis. Joey attended school in LaCrosse, graduating in 1980. Joey worked at Riverfront (Aptiv), where he was the PacMan King, for 40 years until his retirement in 2020.
Joey had a wonderful smile and the best laugh. He enjoyed a full life. Joey especially loved traveling, spending time with his family and friends, weekend getaways to a hotel, and watching WWE Wrestling. Joey loved going to Ardie’s Restaurant for pie and coffee after work and going to the Freighthouse for prime rib on the weekends. Before his mother’s death in 2005, Joey and his mom were inseparable. He was her “travel buddy” and they went everywhere and did everything together. After his mother's passing, Joey and Maureen became Team Mo-Joe. They continued doing all the things Joey loved. They spent time going to farmer’s markets, doing puzzles, going for long rides, enjoying their newly remodeled front porch and new back deck, and Friday night dinners with Cindy and her kids. When his brother, Gene, moved back to the area, Joey was excited to have him back home to spend time with. After his retirement, Joey would go work at his brother Phillip’s office, where he made sure everything ran smoothly. Joey especially loved the holidays surrounded by his family; Thanksgiving at Cindy’s and Christmas at home, especially when his brother, Glenn, could be there. Joey also enjoyed his birthday very much and started counting down the days as soon as Christmas was over. Joey was a very special and very much loved member of his family. He will be missed beyond measure.
Joey is survived by his six siblings: sisters Maureen Addis, Cindy (Jack - deceased) Wegner, brothers Gary, Gene (Michael - deceased), Glenn, and Phillip (Julie) Addis. Joey is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Dana (Jeff) Allen, Linda (Kevin) Curley, John Addis, Alex (Katelyn) Wegner, Kimmy Wegner, Andy (fiance Julia) Wegner, Adia Addis, Lila Addis, and Jacey (Randy) Penn. He is also survived by an aunt, Beryl Jean Plumley, of Romsey, England and several cousins whom he enjoyed spending time with. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Joseph (1992), his mother, Doreen (2005), as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
