John J. Clark, 88, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at home. He was born in La Crosse on January 25, 1936, to Joseph and Margaret (Heyerdahl) Clark. He married Mary Lou Mekvold on May 25, 1957, in St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church.

John graduated from Aquinas High School in 1955. He was a lifelong electrician and expert handyman. He loved gardening and taking care of the many birds who made homes in his yard. He and Mary Lou loved taking mystery bus tours and bus trips down to the Fireside Theater, and the cruise they went on following their retirement was a memory they never stopped reminiscing about.

He is survived by his sister Mary Ann (Engh), three children, Peggy, Jim and Bill Clark, and his granddaughter Kasey Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou, and his son Joe.

A Prayer Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2024, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the Funeral Home on Friday. Private burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse.
