BELLING, John A.

John A. Belling, 50, of La Crosse, Wis., died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, in La Crosse, Wis. His struggles ended when he passed away peacefully while visiting his friend Monte. John was born in La Crosse, Wis., on July 4, 1967, to William and Irene (Slama) Belling.

John served our country in the United States Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) of the US Navy.

One of John’s favorite past times was fishing as he found peace near the water.

He is survived by his mother; Irene Belling of La Crosse, Wis., three sisters; Diane (Fritz) Lovensheimer of Ohio, Janet (Joe) Erickson of La Crosse, Wis., and Mary Belling (Michael Lucey) of La Crosse, Wis., one brother; Michael (Mary) Belling of Onalaska, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father William “Bill” Belling and sister-in-law Tracy Belling.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 5, 2018, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate with Honor Guard by the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52 with Entombment to be held in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the funeral Home on Monday.

The family extends special appreciation and thanks to the Tomah and La Crosse VA offices and also long time friends Monte, Dan, Barry, Joe, and Brian.
