Joanne H. Scheitzach

Joanne H.Scheitzach, age 89. of LaCrosse, died Wednesday August 26th,2015, in Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on July 12, 1926 in Chicago, IL , to B. Delmar and Lasetta ( Kalmelot) Conklin,. She married William Scheitzach on December 27, 1948 at St Joseph the Workman Cathedral in LaCrosse. They met each other while roller skating and continued to skate for many years.

Joanne was a long time Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.She was a member of the Lacrosse Eagles Auxiliary since 1995 where she enjoyed singing karaoke.Her early interests were knitting and painting figurines as entries in the Lacrosse County Fair.She enjoyed camping and family vacations,playing piano and singing and was a part of the WKBH Hayshakers program.As she aged,her interests shifted to listening to music and visiting and talking with friends and relatives.

She is survived by her two her two children; Laura (Robert) Watson,and William Scheitzach Jr. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Amy (Brian) Aakre, Stephen Watson, Samuel Watson, And Rebecca (Jerrick) Salley ; and two great-grandchildren; Savannah Aakre and Kiley Jacobson.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband William; her parents, and one Grandson Adam Watson, among other family members and close friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. S, in La Crosse. Family and friends may attend visitation from 4 to 7:00 P.M. with Rosary starting at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 1,2015 at the Funeral Home and  from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate with burial to be held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
