Jeffrey P. Halvorsen, age 53, of Arcadia, WI passed away on August 22, 2021. Jeffrey was born on December 15, 1967, to Paul and Mary Lou Halvorsen of Arcadia, WI. In 1992 he met his beloved wife Sara and they wed in 1994. He was a supportive, loving, selfless husband, an amazing father, doting grandfather and a friend to everyone he met.
Jeff’s professional life started as a police officer for the City of Whitehall where he worked for 3 years, then serving the City of Arcadia for 10 years. He joined the family business fulltime in 1996, Halvorsen Lumber, where he was fortunate to work with his father, twin brother and children. Service was a calling to Jeff, and in addition to being a businessman, he was the Fire Chief at the Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Department for over 31 years while serving as Chief for over 17 years.
Jeff was an active member of the Arcadia Lions Club, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce and held the position of the current President of the Trempealeau County Fire Chiefs Association and the Arcadia-Glencoe fire department. Jeff also sat on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association.
During his personal and professional career he received several outstanding awards, the Melvin Jones Fellow for Dedicated Humanitarian Services, the Community Service award, 2012 Fest Master, and the State of Wisconsin Life Saving Medal of Honor.
Jeff was predeceased by his mother Mary Lou. He is survived by his wife Sara, children Casey (Madelyn), Treyce (Mackenzie Hutchins), Charlie, Sidney and granddaughter Eleanor. He is further survived by his father Paul, twin-brother Erik (Sally Haines), sister Kay (Rudy Vanbeuzekom) Halvorsen, as well as extended family and an abundance of friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Wanek Center, 730 Raider Dr. in Arcadia on Saturday August 28, 2021, at 1:00pm. Rev. Sebastian J. Kolodziejczyk will officiate. Friends and family may visit from 11:00am until the time of service. A police and fire procession will begin at 10:00am ending with a salute to Jeff at the Wanek Center.
