Beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend, Jeanette Lucille Manske, 93, two days before her 94th birthday, was called home to our Father in Heaven on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018. For the past 5 years she resided at Bethany Riverside, in La Crosse, and formerly in Chipmunk Coulee.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1924, in La Crosse, to John and Laura (Schmidt) Bendel. She married Lester Manske on June 15, 1944, at Mindoro Lutheran Church, Mindoro, Wis.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Hamburg Lutheran Church. She lived most of her life in Chipmunk Coulee. She was a member of the Chipmunk Coulee Homemakers. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, baking and gardening. Lester and Jeanette enjoyed taking bus trips to the Brewer games. She enjoyed listening to the Brewer games on the radio. She will be missed by family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Fred) Sill of Chaseburg, WI, two sons, Leslie “Butch” (Nancy) Manske, of Stoddard, WI, and Paul (Linda) Manske, of Oelwein, IA.; ten grandsons, Mathew (Lisa) Manske, Mark (Lori) Manske, Michael (Katerina) Manske, Leslie Manske Junior “J.R.”, Bryon (Joie) Manske , Travis (Allie) Manske, Steve (Carol) Sill, Scott (Pam) Sill, Stuart (Erin) Sill, and Shawn (Colette) Sill; twenty great-grandchildren, Lucas Manske, Maxwell Manske, Bennett Manske, Nicholas Manske, Ashley Manske, Mackenzie Manske, Thomas Manske, Juliette Manske, Addison Manske, Reagan Manske, Dawson Manske, Max Manske, Kaitlin Sill, Tayler Sill, Alexis Sill, Makayla Sill, Benjamin Sill, Hailey Sill, Sydney Sill and Julia Sill, two sisters, Audrey McRae Mades, Rita (Bill) Cox, and brother Romey Bendel. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lester, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley (Bendel) Cox, grandson Eric Manske, and 3 sisters-in-law, and 6 brothers-in-law. On February 2, 2018, God called her younger sister Ruth (Bendell) Lenser to join Jeanette in heaven.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 12, 2018, in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, County Road K., Hamburg, WI. Visitation Will be held from 4-7:00 PM, Sunday, February 11, 2018, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse, Wis., and from 10:00 AM Until the time of Service at Church on Monday.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Hamburg Lutheran Church, Lutheran Radio Committee, or Luther High School.
A special thanks to family and friends who sent her cards and stopped in for a visit and helped her collect many Brewer items. Your kindness meant so much to her. Many thanks to the staff at Bethany Riverside.
