James P. Nagle, 85, of La Crosse, died on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in Eagle Crest South, La Crosse, Wis. He was born in Superior, Wis., on July 23, 1933 to Morris and Eleanor (Trisco) Nagle. He married Bonnie Rupar in 1968 and they later divorced.
James went to Cathedral Grade School, Superior High School, spent 2 years at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn., and also spent 2 years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served one year in Korea, and one year at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Following the service, James worked for Kraft Foods out of Minneapolis for 2 years and then at the Eveleth Taconite Mine in Eveleth, Minn. In 1999 James retired in La Crosse, where he spent the remaining years of his life.
He is survived by his sister, Kay Nix, of La Crosse; Nieces and Nephews Kim (Tony) Nimmo of La Crosse, Norbert (Debora) Nix, of Nashville, Mary Kay (Gary) Lind of La Crosse, Eddy Nix of Viroqua, Michael (Kathy) Nix, of Grandhaven, MI, Pam (Glen) Brazelton of Yorktown, VA, and Mike Modeen of Yorktown VA. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Eleanor Nagle, his sisters Irene Modeen and Jean Mahoney, and one brother Maurice Nagle.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Peter Raj will officiate with entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home on Saturday. Military Honors will be performed by the Roy L. Vingers Post No. 52, American Legion following services.
Memorials are preferred to the Gundersen Clinic Hospice Program or a charity of choice.
