James “Jim” E. Puent, 73, of La Crescent, Minn., formerly of Winona, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, after a short and furious battle with COVID-19 in Vernon Memorial Hospital. He lived the last 4 years in Creamery Creek Senior Living, Viroqua, Wis.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gwen, and daughter Jamie Beth, two
sisters, Anita Wilcox, Joanne Grass, and three brothers, Raymond II,
John (Marlene) and William. Also four sisters-in-law, Colleen (Tom)
Niebeling, Karen (Rick) Corcoran, Bonnie Corcoran, and Dawn (Will)
Bonham.
Jim is also survived by many special nieces and nephews, foster
children, and numerous Godchildren. Jim was preceded in death
by his parents, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Francis and
Marcelin (Rohrer) Corcoran.
A heartfelt thanks you to Creamery Creek Senior Living for providing
competent and loving care to Jim during his stay there. Also very
special- thanks to the medical staff at Vernon Memorial for their
many phone calls and exceptional care.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November
3, 2021, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 604 Adams St., Brownsville.
MN. Rev. John L. Evans II will officiate with burial to be held in St.
Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Brownsville. A Rosary will be held at
3:30 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in Blaschke & Schneider
Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse. WI. Family and
friends may visit following the Rosary until 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
The family requests that masks be worn for those attending services.
