Jacob L. Hoff, 83, of La Crosse, WI, died on Monday, April 8, 2024, in Gundersen Medical Center. He was born in Eureka, SD, on March 10, 1941, to Jacob J., and Lydia (Arnold) Hoff. He married Sandra Bartosh on November 1, 1993, in Eau Claire, WI.
Jake enjoyed hunting, hunting dogs, the Packers, Vikings, and Chiefs, country music, cooking, dancing, and being able to meet new people.
He created cemetery monuments for 50 years, running his own business, first in Aberdeen, SD and then in Chippewa Falls, WI. It was his passion to “Do it right”. “If I could make someone’s day better, it made me feel good”.
He is survived by his wife Sandra ‘Sandi’ Bartosh; his son Clark (Teri) Hoff; step-daughter Deborah (Mathew) McGrury; step-son Dean (Karen) Bartosh; three grandchildren Ashley Bartosh, Callie Bartosh, and Brianna Mihelich, and his three great grandchildren Jasmine, Quentin, and Damien.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers Rubin (Esther) Hoff, Ervin (Frieda) Hoff, Clarence (Ella) Hoff, Milbert (Jenell) Hoff, Alton (Charmaine) Hoff, and Herman (Marie) Hoff, and four sisters Ida (Ed) Diegel, Christine (Edmund) Wolfer, Anna (Henry) Obenauer, and Hilda (Vince) Jones.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Prairie View Cemetery, in Lake Hallie, WI. Chaplain Nathan Anderson will officiate.
