Irene C. Newlin

Irene C, Newlin, 90, of La Crosse, Wis., died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, Wis. She was born in Winona, Minn., On Sept. 30, 1922 to Henry and Cecelia (Selbach) Marcotte. She married Ed Newlin on June 3, 1967, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wis.

After retirement Irene and Ed traveled and enjoyed Jazz Music. They traveled extensively to visit family and friends across the country. She was a real people person who also enjoyed entertaining her friends.

She is survived by her sisters; Mary Jane Brindley, Virginia (Tom) Larkin, sister-in-law; Kathleen Marcotte, two brothers; Henry (Alexis) Marcotte and Joseph and (Lois) Marcotte.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Edwin J. Newlin in 2004, one brother Paul Marcotte and brother-in-law James Brindley.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in the Marian Chapel of St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main St., La Crosse, Wis. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with burial to be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass in the Cathedral on Wednesday.

Memorials are preferred to Aquinas and Hillview Health Care Center.
