Ilene R. Crabtree

Ilene R. Crabtree, 91, of La Crosse, Wi., formerly of  Marion, Iowa, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, in Bethany Riverside Care Center, La  Crosse, Wis. She was born in Cedar Rapids,  Iowa, July 27, 1923, to Raymond and Katherine (Marek) Doran. She married Willard  Crabtree on April 10, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Ilene was a member in good standing of the Marion, Iowa, chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; she also sold Avon for 25 years which she  loved.

She enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors, from  gardening to fishing to feeding the birds, but most of all she loved and enjoyed  spending time with her family.

She is survived by one  daughter; Sharon (Mark)  Olson of Onalaska, Wis., two grandsons; Ronald S. Kale  and Jeremy R.  (Shayna) Kale of La Crosse, Wis., four great-grandchildren; Alicia(Mitchell)  Starch of Jacksonville, NC,  Bailey Kale,  Randen Kale and Carter Kale  of La Crosse, Wis.,   and many nieces  and nephews.

She was preceded in  death by her husband Willard on July 1,1994, her parents, her step father Charles Winans, sister  Ann  Hoag, and one great-grandchild, Emma Kale.

The family would like to thank the care providers at Bethany Riverside for their exceptional care for the last 15 years, she thought of it as her home, not a nursing facility and that is due to all the staff who treated her with love and respect.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, April  17, 2015, in the Faith and Life Chapel in Bethany Riverside Care Center, 2575  So., 7th., St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. James  Kurzynski will officiate,  burial to be held in Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, Iowa. Family and friends may  call from 12:30 PM until the time of services in  the Faith and Life Center  at Bethany Riverside on Friday.
