Helen D. Pitz

October 5, 1930 — November 16, 2017

Helen “Honna” D. Pitz

Helen returned home to her heavenly Father on November 16, 2017. She was born to John and Lioba (Roth) Pitz on October 5, 1930 in La Crosse, WI.

Honna was a friend and helper for her family and friends all her life; first caring for her father, then living with her sister and family to help care for the children. In the 1960’s Honna lived with her close friend Malcolm Garder and together they operated a very successful egg operation, delivering eggs all around the La Crosse area. Prior to entering the healthcare center, Honna received much care and assistance from her nephew, Cal. Honna was a charter member of the “Happy Go Lucky” Club and received honors for the many hours she volunteered at the Southside Senior Citizen Center. She loved her Catholic faith, especially our Blessed Mother, the Packers and Brewers, and bingo.

She is survived by her sister and brother, Betty Buchner and Walter Pitz, many nieces and nephews, and her special friend Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and four brothers.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church, 2006 Weston St, La Crosse, Wis., Rev. Brian Konopa officiating with burial to be held in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Visitation beginning at 9:30 at church.

A sincere thank you to all of the employees at Hillview Healthcare Center who gave such wonderful care to Honna over the past 4 years.
