Gordon R. Seifert, 79, of La Crosse, Wis., died Sunday, July 26, 2015, in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis. He was born in Green Bay, Wis., on July 5, 1936, to Karl and Sue Ann (Heider) Seifert. He married Juanita Hauser Aug. 31, 1957, in La Crosse, Wis., and their marriage was confirmed in the Church of the Gesu, in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1961. Gordy honorably served our country in the US Army and was discharged from service in 1959 after serving 4 years. He was a Life Member of the NRA, Member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1920, and a Member of the South Lauderdale Yacht Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #839, of La Crosse, Wis., a lifetime member of the Humane Society. Gordy worked for the CB&Q Rail Road and the Burlington Northern Rail Road retiring from the Burlington Northern Rail Road as a Rail Road Engineer in 1999, after 30 years of employment.
He is survived by his wife Juanita of La Crosse, Wis., four brothers; James (Sherry) Seifert of Lindenhurst, Ill., Russell (Lynn) Kotecki of Green Bay, Wis., Donald (Mary) Kotecki of Green Bay, Wis., and Eugene Kotecki of Green Bay, Wis., one brother-in-law Roger (Linda) Hauser of La Crosse, Wis., and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws; Roland “Jim†and Edith “Peg†Hauser.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 30, 2015, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with Entombment to be held in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass in St. James the Less on Thursday.
