George "Chut" Londkoski passed away on January 24, 2023.
He was born in 1919 to Raymond and Mary Londkoski. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from Central High School in 1937. He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific, mainly in Burma and India. In 1944, he married Rita Papenfuss. He was a master electrician at Papenfuss Electric for 37 years.
He enjoyed many years on a bowling team for Stephan's Maple Grove with a group of guys who became good friends for life. The Sokols organization was another social group that he joined as a young man and continued with until they disbanded. Later in his life he played cards, especially euchre, with another group of friends. He always liked to stay active and rode his bike well into his eighties.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan (Jim) Petersen and Patricia (Phil)Larson; also three grandsons, Paul (Robin) Larson, Joel (Patricia Buneker) Petersen, Chad (Elizabeth) Larson, and one granddaughter, Julie (Jeffrey) Miller. He is further survived by nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; and infant son, John; his parents and stepfather, George Mabin; also two brothers, Jerry and Bob Londkoski; two stepsisters, Blanche Bauman and Eva Lorenz; and a step brother, Wilbur Mabin.
Mass of Christian Burial for George will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 13th St. S., La Crosse, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity or a charity of your choice. A private burial for immediate family will take place following the Mass. Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family.
