William G. Soller, 67, of La Crosse, WI, died Friday, March 28, 2014 surrounded by his seven children.

He was born in La Crosse, WI, on December 2, 1946 to Sylvester and Carmen Soller.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Mary Beth on June 12, 2012 and his parents. He is survived by his children Jackie (Scott) Fry, Brian Soller, Katie Soller, his step-children Ellen (Eric Nielsen) Papacek, Dan Papacek, Kevin (Carmen) Papacek, Liz (Scott) King, his nine grandchildren and his siblings, Tom (Kathy) Soller, Janet (Bill) Stuckey, Joyce (Pete) Boysen, Joann (Bill) Klaus, Steve (Julie) Soller, and his nieces and nephews.

He was a loving father, a devoted husband, and an avid sportsman. Bill and Mary Beth enjoyed 30 years of marriage over which time he earned a few gray hairs raising their seven children together. He supported all of their academic and extracurricular events and helped them to develop character and perserverance through the many ups and downs experienced in a large combined family. He ran marathons in La Crosse during Oktoberfest as well as in the Twin Cities. He enjoyed golfing with his family, especially during the annual family reunion tournament with his children. Bill spent time fishing with friends and shared his love for this pastime with all of his grandchildren. His was loved for his sense of humor and affable nature and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. James Kurzynski will officiate. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Blaschke & Schneider funeral home. Friends and family may also call from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the funeral home on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
