Frank A. Hass Sr., 90, of LaCrosse, Wis., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Hillview Health Care Center, LaCrosse, Wis. He was born in Cherokee, Wis., on Aug. 2, 1927, to Frank and Esther (Meinke) Hass. He married Theresa Gavin on July 28, 1962, in LaCrosse, Wis.
Frank proudly served our country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953, serving in the Korean War. He was a Past Legion Commander for the French Island American Legion Post 417, Frank also served as the State of Wisconsin American Legion Sargent at Arms. He loved to go camping and watching the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by one son; Frank A. (Kelly) Hass Jr., of LaCrosse, Wis., two grandchildren; Shannon McArthur and Erin (Rebecca) McArthur; and two Great-grandchildren; Brenden and Callen McArthur. He is further survived by one sister; Gertrude (Jack) Alexander of Medford, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan. 10, 2013, his parents, one sister Ella Rapp, and three brothers Reuben and Roland Hass and Norman Meinke .
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., LaCrosse, Wis., Rev. Matthew Schroeder will officiate with private burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park, LaCrosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home on Thursday.
