Elizabeth R. Anderson

Elizabeth “Betty” Anderson, 91, of La Crosse, WI died on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Clare Bridge Memory Care Community in La Crosse, WI.

Elizabeth Ruth Dolezel was born on November 22, 1930, in La Crosse, WI to Mathias and Elizabeth (Stangl) Dolezel. She was raised in La Crosse where she attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and was a graduate of Aquinas High School. She graduated from UW- La Crosse with a teaching degree. Betty was a very active member of St. James the Less Catholic Church over the years. On August 25, 1956, she was united in marriage with Richard Anderson. They shared 50 years of a wonderful marriage. The couple lived in Milwaukee, WI for a few years until moving back to La Crosse when she came home to be a caregiver for her parents. Betty enjoyed reading, baking, and cross word puzzles. She was a very kind, generous, caring and selfless woman. She was a fun loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She’ll be missed dearly by all those who loved her!

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (William) Pedace of La Crosse; four grandchildren: Jessica, Billy, John and Sarah; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Margaret Niedzwiechi; and by many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, and three siblings: David, Marian and John.

There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial.

The family is so grateful for the wonderful care that Betty received at Clare Bridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials directed to the donor’s choice.

Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Home in La Crosse is assisting the family with arrangements.
