Doris Caroline (Moldenhauer) Roesler was called home to the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday July 29th at the age of 97. She was born in La Crosse on March 8, 1918, to Albert and Hulda Moldenhauer and married Albert M. Roesler on May 17, 1941.

In 1932 she was baptized at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crescent, and confirmed at First Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse. She attended First Ev. Lutheran School and was a 1936 graduate of La Crosse Central High School. Doris worked for Paramount Photo in La Crosse tinting portraits for several years before leaving to raise her family. Later she was a representative for Avon products for over a half century, winning numerous sales awards and at the time of her 90th birthday was recognized by the company president as the oldest practicing Avon representative. She retired as an active Avon salesperson at 95.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister and by her husband Albert. Survivors include a sister, Rosemary Frick of Roy, WA, children Gerald of Ferryville, Darlene McKenna of East Brunswick, NJ, Ronald of Woodbury, MN, Janet Waller of Duluth, MN, Frederick of La Crosse and Gordon of Hillsboro, as well as nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was a long time member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday school and was instrumental in starting the Boys and Girls Club which eventually became the Lutheran Pioneers.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2015, in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2720 So. 26th St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Jonathan Rimmert will officiate with burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 8:00 PM at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also call from 10:00 AM until the time of Services at the church on Monday.

Doris will be remembered by everyone she met because she never failed to tell one and all “Jesus Bless You.” Well done thou good and faithful servant rest now in the everlasting joy with our Lord in Heaven.
