Diane K. La Fleur

Diane K. (Sidie) La Fleur, 66, of Onalaska died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Gundersen Health System surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 20, 1949 to Harold and Bertha (Myhre) Sidie. She spent her childhood in Rush Creek, WI and later the family moved to Viroqua.

She married Ambrose La Fleur Jr. on July 5, 1969 at St. Thomas More Church. They made their home in Onalaska and she became a loving mother to Stacey, Sarah, and Amy.  She spent countless hours volunteering and helping others.  Many considered her a second mother.

Diane’s pride and joy were her grandchildren – Anna, Ruth, Addie, Caden and Amber.  She loved spending time with them especially doing arts and crafts, going places, and just plain spoiling them.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years; Ambrose, three daughters; Stacey (Craig) Sheffield, Sarah (John) Purvis, and Amy (Brad) Olson, three sisters; Hilda (Jerry) Matson, Leone Larson and Helen Shaner, and one brother; Ken Sidie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Bertha, one sister Lucille, two brothers; Raymond and Roy, and father-in-law and mother-in law; Ambrose Sr., and Kathryn La Fleur.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Monday, July 18, 2016. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 PM at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave So., La Crosse, WI 54601, until departure for the service. The service will be held at 5:30 PM at Faith Baptist Church, 3615 S 28^th Street, La Crosse, WI 54601. Pastor Stephen Terpstra will officiate with private burial to be held at a later date.

She will be greatly missed.
