HACKNER, Carol P.

Carol Hackner died June 27, 2013, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. The former Carol Phillippe was born on May 30, 1934, in Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Mildred (Swenson) Phillippe.

 

Carol attended the University of Illinois. Carol was united in marriage to Robert B. Hackner on November 30, 1955, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, in La Crosse, WI. Carol was very proud of her Iowa heritage and actively followed their university sports teams.  She enjoyed her time spent on the Mississippi River with family and friends, her Tuesday Bridge crew and life time friends from high school.

 

Survivors include her husband, Bob of La Crosse, her brother Gene Phillippe of Sun City, Arizona, her children Lisa (Peter Kish), Robert Hackner Jr., Chris (Kathy) Hackner, Matt (Holly) Hackner and Susanne (Shawn) Novak,  her grandchildren Barrett (Miwa), Taylor, Zach, Kaitlyn, Chase, Lucas, and Anna, her great grandson Hide.

 

She was preceded in death by her parent, brother LeRoy, son in law Steven Olsen, step grandson Skylar Beene.

 

Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2013, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis.
