Beverly A. Techmeier

d. July 11, 2016

Beverly (Bev) A. Techmeier, 64, of Madison passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 11, 2016, following a courageous seven month battle with esophageal cancer.

Bev was born March 11, 1952, to Robert and Ruth (Hurth) Schneider of Stanley, Wis. She grew up on their family dairy farm and then graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School.  Later, she met and married John Techmeier and together they had four children. In 1984, they moved to Madison where she became active in the St. Dennis School and Church; often volunteering in the classrooms of her children, working in the lunchroom, and helping to decorate the church during holiday seasons.

She will be fondly remembered for being a wonderful cook and baker, beautifully decorating cakes for friends and families special occasions, her love of running and exploring the outdoors, and for her green thumb in the garden. One of her proudest accomplishments was taking classes at UW-Madison on African Studies; which sparked her love for all the animals of the safari. While she spent many years at home raising children, she enjoyed her years working with all the customers at America’s Best Flowers. Mostly she loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren. She will be fondly remember for her kind and caring heart and her outrageously fun sense of humor.

Bev is survived by her children; Brad Techmeier of Madison, Kurt (Heather) Techmeier and their children: Mason, Ashlyn, and Emma all of Muskego, Melissa (Kyle) Abts and their two children: Olivia and Bennett all of Holmen, and Katie Techmeier of Madison. She is also survived by her sister in law, Brenda Schneider of Farmington Hills, MI, Cheryl Bilecki of Westly Chapel, FL, Dan (Jane) Schneider of Cadott, Wis., Dave (Corrine) Schneider of Stanley, Wis., Bob Schneider of Middleton, Wis., and Jim Schneider of Portland, OR; closest cousin Marsha Van Domelen (Philip Shultz) and great friend Cece Brown.  Many in laws, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews will also miss her greatly.

Bev is preceded in her death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Schneider and her two older brothers; Thomas and Will Schneider.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Rev. Randy Timmerman will officiate with private burial to be held in Stanley, Wis. at a later date. Fellowship will follow at St. Dennis Catholic Church directly following the Mass. Visitation will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, July 18, 2016, and from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family is hoping to use donations to provide a memorial here in Madison; she will be buried with her parents in Stanley at a later date.

“We love you to the moon and back!”
