Augusta L. Revels, 80, of the North Side of La Crosse, died on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on June 14, 1937, in Norwalk, Wis., to Louis and Elva (Cox) Sanders. She married Vergil F. Revels on April 16, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1970. She then met Leonard ‘Gene’ Stuhr and was engaged until he preceded her in death on January 30, 1993.
Augusta is survived by her four daughters, Vicky L. Revels of La Crosse, Debrah J. Revels of Onalaska, Diane J. Linhart of La Crosse, and Reta R. (Bryan) Pahl of Stoddard; and her son Dennis Ray of La Crosse; her adopted brother Joe Betsinger; thirteen grandchildren, Michelle A. Ostmoe of DeForest, Cyndi M. Revels of Waunakee, Michael S. Campbell of La Crosse, Matthew L. Campbell of La Crosse, Staci L. Campbell of La Crosse, G. Scott Willinger of Holmen, James A. Willinger of Independence, Brandon C. WIllinger of Onalaska, Mycajah R.R. Revels of La Crosse, Randy M. Linhart of La Crosse, Kate L. Pahl of Stoddard, Kelly R. Pahl of Stoddard, and Kristin H. Pahl of Marquette, MI., and fifteen Great-grand children with one the way. She is survived by one sister, Mae Schultz of Madison, Wis.; one brother Robert Sanders of La Crosse; one nephew Roby Stuhr; numerous nieces and nephews, and long time family friends Lynn and Kimmie Hodyniak.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vergil Fay Sr. and her son Vergil Fay “Butch” Jr. her fiancé Leonard Gene Stuhr, one granddaughter, Lisa L. Close, four sisters and four brothers and her Parents.
The family would like to thank Rita Schams and Sharon Bluhm for their support and help with Augusta at this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., on the North Side of La Crosse. Rev. David Leistekow will officiate with burial to be held in Farmers Valley Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 1:30 until the time of the service at the Funeral Home on Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to The Childrens Museum of La Crosse in Augusta Revels honor for Wayne Pahl’s fishing shack.
