Anthony Silva

Anthony J. Silva., 90, of La Crosse, Wis., died Monday, April 22, 2013, in his home. He was born in Kearsarge, Mich., on Aug. 7, 1922 to Gabriel and Martina (Piana) Silva. He married Marjorie E. Lapish in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Anthony served in the US Army 10^th Mountain Division in the Pack Artillery.

He is survived by four daughters; Mary (Jim Granato) Bange of Houston, Texas, Christine (Tom) Thomsen of Cameron, Wis., Martha (Alan) Pilkington of Redstone, Col., and Kathleen (Mark Brockmeier) Silva of Windham, New Hampshire, and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Isabelle Ferguson of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie on Sept. 25, 1990, one son Michael, his parents and one sister Jean Dubay.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, May 3, 2013, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate with entombment with Military rites by the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1530, to be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the funeral home on Friday.
