Anna Mae (Ann) Becker
Anna Mae Becker, 90, of La Crosse, passed away at Bethany Riverside Care Center on Friday, August 10, 2012. She was born in Bangor WI on August 30, 1921, to Joseph and Anna (Richard) Kiechler. After going to school in Bangor she continued her education at The College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN and Teachers College in La Crosse. She taught high school until her marriage to Albert Becker in 1946. Ann then worked part time at Moen Photo in La Crosse for 38 years. During those years she and Albert traveled extensively throughout many parts of the world, collecting seashells. In the process they amassed one of the largest private collections. It is now on display at the Sandoway House Nature Center in Delray Beach, Florida and is a permanent testimony to their love for each other and their joy for life.  Besides traveling, she loved her flower garden, good music and her dear and special friends.
She is survived by a niece Linda Becker Dean of Gulf Stream, Florida and a sister in-law Lois Becker of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Albert in 1998.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in the Marian Chapel of  St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral,  530 Main St.,  La Crosse, WI Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with entombment to be held in the Catholic Cemetery mausoleum.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Cathedral or a charity of your choice.
